This is an agreement that allows the contract for hearings before the Unsafe Structures Board with the City of North Lauderdale upon execution of this amended agreement by the parties until September 30, 2024.

Summary Explanation/Background
THE RESILIENT ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE BUILDING CODE DIVISION (BCD) RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

It is the policy of the Board of County Commissioners to offer building code services to local municipalities that seek to either supplement their building departments or transfer permitting responsibilities to the County in a full-service arrangement. For those municipalities who do not convene their own Unsafe Structures Board, they can contract with BCD to have their cases researched and presented to the County's Minimum Housing/Unsafe Structures Board at set rates to cover the costs of service. Fees are assessed based on the most current County fee schedule.
