Summary Explanation/Background
PARKS AND RECREATION DIVISION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
The Parks and Recreation Division's (PRD) proposed development of the Loggerhead Park Mooring Field at Loggerhead Park, one of five pocket parks of Hollywood North Beach Park, includes 29 public mooring slips adjacent to the Intracoastal Waterway in the coves north and south of Sheridan Street. The proposed facility will include floating docks for access to upland park facilities, a vessel sewage pump-out station, an exclusive use general services building with a management office, laundry room, restrooms and showers, and other general site improvements. The mooring field slips will be available to the public in accordance with the terms of a standard PRD rental agreement.
PRD requests an ordinance be prepared to establish the Loggerhead Park Mooring Field and designating responsibility to the Director of PRD to issue and enforce permits for boaters who wish to utilize the mooring facility.
