MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution directing the County Administrator to publish Notice of Public Hearing to be held on October 11, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., in Room 422 of the Governmental Center, to consider adoption of a proposed Resolution Amending the Broward County Administrative Code, the title of which is as follows:
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, PERTAINING TO THE BUILDING CODE DIVISION'S FEES; AMENDING SECTION 40.27 OF THE BROWARD COUNTY ADMINISTRATIVE CODE ("ADMINISTRATIVE CODE"), ESTABLISHING FEES FOR BUILDING CODE DIVISION SERVICES; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, INCLUSION IN THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Summary Explanation/Background
THE RESILIENT ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE BUILDING CODE DIVISION (BCD) RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
House Bill 423: Building Regulation ("HB 423") was enacted during the 2022 Legislative Session and requires local governments to charge a reasonable administrative fee based on actual costs incurred by those owners or contractors that retain a private provider (as defined in Section 553.791, Florida Statutes) to perform plan review or building inspection services. The proposed Resolution (Exhibit 2) amends the Broward County Administrative Code in order to implement the requirements of HB 423.
