MOTION TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE funding for the Fiscal Year 2023 General Operating Support Grant awards to the Museum of Discovery and Science, Inc., in the amount of $306,500; and Nova Southeastern University, Inc., on behalf of its Museum of Art Division, in the amount of $252,634, for a one-year contract term, beginning October 1, 2022, through September 30, 2023, and authorize the County Administrator to enter into Grant Award agreements, subject to review for legal sufficiency by the County Attorney. Why Action is Necessary
The Broward County Board of County Commissioners ("Board") approval is required, as the recommended award amounts exceed the approval threshold level of the County Administrator for this grant program. Pursuant to the Broward County Administrative Code, Section 29.17(d)(2), Board approval is required to authorize the County Administrator to execute any Grant Award Agreements with amounts greater than $250,000.
