Summary Explanation/Background
Section 18.43 of the Broward County Administrative Code ("Administrative Code") authorizes the Board to name any property, building, structure, or facility owned by Broward County, or which Broward County otherwise has the right to name ("County Asset"), subject to the process and parameters outlined by that section.
The proposed Resolution would amend Section 18.43 of the Administrative Code to establish a committee that would, prior to Board consideration of any agenda item proposing the naming or renaming of a County Asset (i) review the proposal made by a member of the Board in connection with the naming or renaming of any County Asset ("Proposal"); and (ii) make, for Board consideration, recommendations regarding such Proposal.
