MOTION TO APPROVE Request for Extension of Public Transportation Grant Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for capital funding for 95 Express Bus Service in the amount of $1,748,392 to allow for sufficient time for the purchase of a bus, associated parts and training materials; extending the expiration date from December 31, 2022, to March 31, 2024; and authorizing the County Administrator to execute same.

B. MOTION TO APPROVE Request for Extension of Public Transportation Grant Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for capital funding for 95 Express Bus Service in the amount of $1,102,018 to allow for sufficient time for the purchase of capital equipment for park and ride facility improvements; extending the expiration date from December 31, 2022, to March 31, 2024; and authorizing the County Administrator to execute same.

Why Action is Necessary
In accordance with the FDOT Public Transportation Grant Agreements, Section 6 and 7, time extensions must be requested by the agency and granted by FDOT, and the agreements may be amended or extended upon mutual agreement of both parties.
What Action Accomplishes
Motion A. Extends the FDOT capital grant funding agreement Contract No. G1Q94 in the amount of $1,748,392 for 15 months, consistent with FDOT policies and procedures, to provide sufficient time for the purchase of capital equipment for 95 Express bus service including a Motor Coach Industries, Inc. (MCI) 45-foot over the road electric commuter bus that was ordered and scheduled for delivery in the Spring of 2023.
