PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/WATER AND WASTEWATER SERVICES RECOMMEND APPROVAL.

This item supports the Board's goal of "Resilient Community" by "ensuring accessible, seamlessly integrated investments in renewable energy, sustainable practices, manufacturing, resilient infrastructure, and environmental protection."

In 2022, the City of Deerfield Beach ("City") approached Broward County Water and Wastewater Services ("WWS") staff regarding the availability of reclaimed water to accommodate a planned expansion of SW 10th Street. Providing reclaimed water to the City through this agreement ("Agreement") promotes sustainable practices and diversifies water supplies regionally.

If approved, the Agreement will enable WWS to provide an initial amount of 1 million gallons per day ("MGD") of reclaimed water to the City. WWS may be able to provide additional reclaimed water depending on the future demand in connection with the County's Agreement with Palm Beach County.
