MOTION TO ENACT Ordinance adopting a Small Scale amendment to the Broward County Land Use Plan map (PC 22-6), located in the City of Hallandale Beach (Commission District 6), as an amendment to the Broward County Comprehensive Plan, the title of which is as follows:
AN ORDINANCE OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING A SMALL SCALE AMENDMENT TO THE BROWARD COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN; AMENDING THE BROWARD COUNTY LAND USE PLAN WITHIN THE CITY OF HALLANDALE BEACH; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Why Action is Necessary
Pursuant to Section 163.3184(11), Florida Statutes, as amended, Broward County Comprehensive Plan amendments shall be adopted by Ordinance by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, serving as the local governing body.

The Ordinance adopts Broward County Land Use Plan Small Scale map amendment PC 22-6, in accordance with Section 163.3187(1), Florida Statutes, as amended.

Summary Explanation/Background
The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed small scale amendment, PC 22-6, at its December 1, 2022, public hearing and recommended approval, subject to the applicant's voluntary commitment regarding affordable housing (15% of 200 dwelling units at the low and very-low income levels), and including not requiring a second Planning Council public hearing.
