Previous Action Taken
On December 14, 2021, the Broward County Board of Commissioners took action to authorize the County Administrator to approve the Agreement for Local Funding of The Sawgrass Expressway Pat Salerno Drive Interchange.

Summary Explanation/Background
The City of Sunrise and Broward County have both executed the Agreement for Local Funding of The Sawgrass Expressway Pat Salerno Drive Interchange. At the time, the County, the City of Sunrise, and FDOT envisioned the County and FDOT would have executed an agreement for the design and construction of a full interchange at the Sawgrass Expressway and Pat Salerno Drive ("Locally Funded Agreement") before March 31, 2023. The County and FDOT continue to work toward execution of the Locally Funded Agreement. Currently, the Locally Funded Agreement is under review with FDOT. Because the Locally Funded Agreement is not yet complete, all parties agree that the City of Sunrise should not have to acquire and transfer the seven parcels to FDOT until 120 days after the County and FDOT execute the Locally Funded Agreement.
