Summary Explanation/Background
THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS/BOARDS SECTION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THIS ITEM.
The Homeless Continuum of Care Board (HCOC) is composed of 30 voting/nonvoting members, including 19 members who are nominated by specific entities for approval by the Board of County Commissioners. One voting member category provides for a North or South Homeless Assistance representative to serve on the HCOC. This representative will serve as a nonvoting ex-officio member.
The following nomination has been received by the Human Services Department (HSD) for appointment to the HCOC pursuant to Section 12.153(a)4, Broward County Administrative Code:
Keith Cavanaugh nominated as the South Homeless Assistance Representative.
Mr. Cavanaugh was nominated by the Broward Outreach Center to serve on the HCOC on January 14, 2020. The County Attorney has determined that Mr. Cavanaugh qualifies for appointment (Exhibit 1).
