MOTION TO AWARD fixed contract to the low responsive, responsible bidder, H.G. Construction, Development and Investment, Inc., for Central Broward Regional Park Additional Parking, Bid No. PNC2118806C1, in the amount of $617,800, which includes allowances in the amount of $5,000 to be substantially completed within 240 calendar days from the Project Initiation Date listed in the Second Notice to Proceed, contingent upon receipt and approval of insurance/performance and payment guaranty, and authorize the Mayor and Clerk to execute same. Why Action is Necessary
In accordance with the Broward County Procurement Code, Section 21.31.a.4, Award Authority, Board approval is required for awards exceeding $500,000 that includes a single bidder, rejection of apparent low bidder, or protested award.
What Action Accomplishes
Provides for the construction of new additional parking for Broward County Central Broward Regional Park (now known as Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium).

THE PURCHASING DIVISION AND THE PARKS AND RECREATION DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
The Office of Economic and Small Business Development (OESBD) established a County Business Enterprise (CBE) goal of 35% for this contract. H.G. Construction, Development and Investment, Inc. committed to 35% CBE participation, which has been reviewed and approved by the OESBD (Exhibit 3).
