MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution No. 2020-506, the title of which is as follows:
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE, ON BEHALF OF THE COUNTY COMMISSION, THE SOUTH FLORIDA ANCHOR ALLIANCE ("SFAA") MEMBERSHIP PLEDGE, WHEREBY BROWARD COUNTY PLEDGES TO COLLABORATE IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF STRATEGIES TO BUILD A HEALTHY, THRIVING AND PROSPEROUS SOUTH FLORIDA; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

THE OFFICE OF ECONOMIC AND SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
This item supports the Board of County Commissioners' Value: A vibrant economy with a diverse, skilled workforce, in a County offering unique advantages that attract all types of businesses to create equitable, countywide prosperity; and the Goal: Attract and retain all types of business, especially high-wage industries that offer employee benefits, through partnerships with the Alliance, chambers of commerce, colleges and universities, CareerSource, and any other available avenues.
In December 2017, the Health Foundation of South Florida, in partnership with Citi Community Development and Federal Reserve of Atlanta, held the first convening for executives of anchor institutions and community partners where there was demonstrated interest in a shared vision for taking collective action towards building community wealth.
