Summary Explanation/Background
The Agreement between Broward County and Sheriff of Broward County for the Operation of Call-Taking, Teletype (Queries Only), and Dispatch Services for the Consolidated Regional E-911 Communications System ("Agreement"), dated September 30, 2013, had an initial five-year term of that ended on September 30, 2018. The Agreement has been extended through amendments and a series of three-month extensions due to protracted negotiations between the County and Sheriff's Office, including the establishment of performance measures that will be finalized during the extension period; the current amendment expires September 30, 2020.

This item, if approved, would authorize the County Administrator to execute a Fifth Amendment, effective retroactively to October 1, 2020, to extend the Agreement for up to two additional three-month extensions.
