Broward County Board of County Commissioners ("Board") approval is required to authorize the Director of Aviation to execute an amendment to the Signatory Terminal Building Lease Agreement ("Signatory TBLA") with Spirit Airlines, Inc. ("Spirit") for temporary leased space that exceeds a period of six months.

THE AVIATION DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

This action authorizes the Director of Aviation to execute an amendment to permit the COVID-19 testing operation to continue at FLL for an additional period not to exceed twelve months.

The COVID-19 pandemic has made a lasting impact on the aviation industry. With testing requirements in place by certain domestic and international destinations in the fall of 2020, the offering of testing was an amenity that the Board desired to offer to FLL's traveling public.
