Summary Explanation/Background
At the October 19, 2021 meeting of the Board of County Commissioners (“Board”), residents of the area surrounding the proposed location of the Forensic Science Center for the new Broward Sheriff’s Office crime lab and Medical Examiner’s Office (“Building”) expressed their opposition to the proposed location of the Building.
The Building should not be constructed in the proposed location, given the strong neighborhood opposition to its construction. This item directs the County Administrator to negotiate the suspension of all agreements related to the development of the Building and directs that a new location be identified for the Building.
