Summary Explanation/Background
On June 1, 2021 (Agenda Item No. 41), the Board approved RFQ No. GEN2119058R1, General Security Guard Services at Various County Facilities ("General Security RFQ"), as Step One of a Two-Step (RFQ/Bid) procurement process. The second step of the procurement, ITB No. GEN2119058B1, permitted the qualified vendors to bid on the scope of services, and closed on October 27, 2021. The resulting contracts will provide security services at the various County facilities including County parks and libraries.

On June 15, 2021 (Agenda Item Nos. 101 and 102), the Board approved requests for proposal (RFPs) for security services at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Port Everglades (Nos. GEN2120642P1 and GEN2120413P1) ("Airport/Port Security RFPs"). The Airport/Port Security RFPs included important protections for the County and the workers providing these services, such as mirroring the starting wage ($17.17) for County-employed security guards and worker retention and uninterrupted service requirements that were not included in the General Security RF...
