Summary Explanation/Background

On June 1, 2021, the Broward County Commission adopted a revision to the text of the Broward County Land Use Plan designating the Miramar Innovation & Technology Activity Center ("Activity Center") within the City of Miramar.  The Broward County Land Use Plan requires an Interlocal Agreement between the City of Miramar and Broward County that provides for municipal monitoring of development activity and enforcement of permitted land use densities and intensities within the Activity Center.  The Interlocal Agreement between the City of Miramar and Broward County implements the requirements of the Broward County Land Use Plan for the Activity Center.

This item was prepared by the Office of the County Attorney, at the request of the Broward County Planning Council and the City of Miramar, as a result of the Broward County Land Use Plan text amendment designating the Activity Center.
