Summary Explanation/Background
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION AND ENGINEERING DIVISION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

West Prospect Road is a County road located in the City of Tamarac. The City of Tamarac desires to improve the aesthetics of the Prospect Road corridor and buffer the residents of the Tamarac Lakes Section One and Section Two communities by installing a buffer wall along Prospect Road. The wall will replace a mixture of wood and chain link fences, pipe handrail, and low concrete walls with a uniform 6-foot-tall, aesthetically pleasing concrete wall along the rear of 29 residences, and at the two subdivision entrances. The proposed wall will provide a significant aesthetic improvement and consistency in the materials used along the corridor.

When the City evaluated installing the proposed wall on the 29 private properties along Prospect Road, they identified several conflicts at the proposed location of the wall on those properties including concrete slabs, pools, trees, and sheds. As a result, the City indicated a ...
