MOTION TO APPROVE sole brand standardization of Broadcom Inc., authorizing purchase from any designated/authorized partner or reseller, for various product lines of VMware, VMware Foundation Suites, End User Computer Products and Carbon Black Enhanced Detections, including support and maintenance services, and professional installation services, for the Enterprise Technology Services Division.

Why Action is Necessary
In accordance with Broward County Procurement Code Section 21.19(a), Standardization, the Board is required to approve all standardizations for purchases greater than the award authority of the Director of Purchasing; and Section 21.19(c), upon the Board's approval of a standardized sole brand or sole source, the Director of Purchasing may purchase such standardized items regardless of contract amount.
What Action Accomplishes
Approves standardization of Broadcom Inc. products and services for virtual technology for servers, workstations and end-user computer products created and supported by VMware by Broadcom.
