Summary Explanation/Background
On August 25, 2022, the Board of County Commissioners ("Board") directed the Office of the County Attorney to prepare Ordinances to amend or repeal outdated or obsolete provisions of the Broward County Code of Ordinances ("Code") and present such Ordinances for consideration by the Board. This is one of the final Ordinances in the series of agenda items brought to the Board for consideration consistent with that direction.

The Code contains certain legacy provisions relating to the regulation of cable television and open video systems, which are obsolete and no longer in effect in light of state regulation of these areas. The proposed Ordinance would formally repeal these obsolete provisions.
