MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution directing the County Administrator to publish Notice of Public Hearing to be held on June 18, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., in Room 422 of Governmental Center East to consider enactment of a proposed Ordinance, the title of which is as follows:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, ABOLISHING THE BROWARD COUNTY HEALTH FACILITIES AUTHORITY; REPEALING SECTIONS 15-173 THROUGH 15-194 OF THE BROWARD COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES ("CODE"); AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, INCLUSION IN THE CODE, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Summary Explanation/Background
The Broward County Health Facilities Authority ("Authority") was established pursuant to Chapter 154, Florida Statutes, and Ordinance No. 77-35, enacted by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners ("Board") for the purpose of issuing conduit bonds to assist health facilities in the acquisition, construction, financing, and refinancing of projects in Broward County.
The Authority has not issued bonds in several years and has no outstanding debt or obligations. Due to such inactivity, on September 18, 2023, the members of the Authority's governing board voted unanimously to request that the Board dissolve the Authority.
