Previous Action Taken
The Board appropriated $3,000,000 to the BSO Department of Detention for inmate inpatient care costs as part of the Fiscal Year 2024 1st Supplemental Budget approved on December 12, 2023. Of this amount $952,811 was budgeted in operating expenses and the remaining $2,047,189 was budgeted in reserves. On May 7, 2024, the Board approved the Fiscal Year 2024 2nd Supplemental Budget, which included the transfer of $418,513 from the BSO Department of Detention reserve to the Department of Detention operating budget to pay invoices for inmate inpatient care costs. This previous action left $1,628,676 in the reserve.
