Why Action is Necessary
In accordance with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and County policies, a public hearing is required to receive public input on the Fiscal Year 2025 Transit Capital Program of Projects (POP). A POP is a list of projects that includes a brief description of the projects, total project costs, local share, and federal share for each project and the statutory provisions of 49 U.S.C. Chapter 53 require that the County as a designated recipient of FTA funds provide an opportunity for a public hearing for public input on the proposed POP.

Holds Public Hearing to receive public input on Broward County Transportation Department's Fiscal Year 2025 federally funded Transit Capital Program of Projects.

THE TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
This item supports the Board's Connected Community Goal of "Cooperatively delivering an efficient and accessible regional intermodal transportation network" and its Accountable Government Goals of "Consistently delivering responsive, efficient, inclusive, and equitable quality services to the public and internal customers while providing a safe community to live, work and visit" and "Committed to providing an open government that is transparent and accessible to the public."
In compliance with federal regulations, this Public Hearing will allow public participation and comment on Broward County Transportation Department's Fiscal Year 2025 Transit Capital Program of Projects.
