Summary Explanation/Background
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/WATER AND WASTEWATER ENGINEERING DIVISION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

The proposed Resolution (Exhibit 1) allows the County to accept an approximately 20-foot wide nonexclusive and perpetual easement located on a portion of lot 26, block 4, Patterson Park, according to the Plat thereof, as recorded in Plat Book 39, Page 33, of the Public Records of Broward County, Florida. The City Commission of the City of Oakland Park passed resolution R-2024-094 granting such easement to Broward County.

This item relates to new utilities constructed by the City of Oakland Park within the Water and Wastewater Services District 1 potable water and wastewater service area under Utility Connection Permit BCUCP-22-004 and transferred to Broward County. This easement is required so that Broward County can install and maintain the water and sewer mains and associated appurtenances serving the public in perpetuity.

The Resolution and utility easement have been reviewed and approved as to form by the County Attorney's Office.
