MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution directing the County Administrator to publish Notice of Public Hearing to be held on September 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., in Room 422 of Governmental Center East to consider enactment of a proposed Ordinance, the title of which is as follows:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, PERTAINING TO CHILD CARE LICENSING AND ENFORCEMENT; AMENDING VARIOUS SECTIONS OF CHAPTER 7 OF THE BROWARD COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES (“CODE”); AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, INCLUSION IN THE CODE, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Summary Explanation/Background
During the implementation of a major revision of the child care licensing provisions in December 2023, Consumer Protection Division staff identified a number of minor items that either merit modification or that should have been, but were not, addressed in the rewrite. At its June 4, 2024; meeting, the Board directed the County Attorney’s Office (“CAO”) to address the identified matters. This CAO has drafted the Ordinance as directed, and this item would set that Ordinance for public hearing.
