MOTION TO APPROVE Tenth Amendment to Agreement between Broward County and American Heritage Life Insurance Company ("Allstate"), for Personal Income Protection Plans for Broward County Employees, RFP No. R1223429P1, for voluntary employee-paid insurance products, extending the term of the Agreement on a month-to-month basis for 12 months beginning January 1, 2025 and ending December 31, 2025, with no change in plan designs or premium rates, and authorize the Mayor and Clerk to execute same.

Why Action is Necessary
In accordance with Broward County Procurement Code Section 21.53, Duration of Contracts, a County contract shall not exceed five years in duration without the express approval of the Board.
What Action Accomplishes
Extends the current agreement term for Personal Income Protection Plans for Broward County Employees through December 31, 2025.

THE FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DEPARTMENT/HUMAN RESOURCES DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
Approval of this Tenth Amendment to Agreement No. R1223429P1 between Broward County and Allstate will extend the contract term on a month-to-month basis for 12 months beginning January 1, 2025 and ending December 31, 2025 and will allow the following: 1) continuity of services to the County with no change in benefits, terms, and premium rates paid by enrolled employees, 2) meet the 2025 Open Enrollment period, and 3) provide County staff additional time to continue the new solicitation for these services that is currently in process.
