Summary Explanation/Background

THE RESILIENT ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE URBAN PLANNING DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION, subject to staff recommendations and conditions which will ensure compliance with the standards and requirements of Chapter 5, Article IX of the Broward County Code of Ordinances.

The applicant is requesting approval of a plat application to develop 360 mid-rise dwelling units on approximately 4.2 acres located on the south side of Hillsboro Boulevard, between Southwest Natura Boulevard and Interstate I-95, in the City of Deerfield Beach.

The development complies with Policy 2.16.2 of the Broward County Land Use Plan as the proposed 360 units were the subject of Broward County Land Use Plan Amendment (PC 22-2) which approval considered the City’s housing programs and policies, and included a voluntary commitment of $500 per unit towards the City’s affordable housing programs.

The Development Review Report is attached (Exhibit 1).
