body
Why Action is Necessary
Board action is necessary to approve the sub-grant Agreement and to authorize the delegation of authority for its execution.
What Action Accomplishes
This action will continue to provide Federal funds to support Broward County's emergency management functions and disaster relief. This agreement allows the County to be reimbursed for fiscal expenditures associated with the response to 2024 Hurricane Milton. These expenses include emergency protective measures including but not limited to staffing and operation of the EOC and EDC, securing of infrastructure and other county owned property and safety checks. These expenditures for such items were not included in the current Fiscal Year budget, and reimbursement from FEMA is therefore necessary.
