Why Action is Necessary
Florida Statutes 932.7055(5)(a) requires that proceeds from the disposition of liens and forfeited property obtained from criminal procedure and corrections be deposited in a special law enforcement trust fund to be used for law enforcement purposes. Recommendation of the Sheriff and Board approval are required to appropriate LETF funds.

B. Provides LETF funding in the amount of $12,610 for the Weston Utility Trailer.

A. The Broward Sheriff's Office supports this LETF request for the Weston District. The City of Weston/BSO Weston District is seeking the purchase of three message/speed boards. The goals and objectives of the message/speed boards is to reduce crime in the city by posting crime prevention messages to the community and to educate motorists through visual reminders of excess speed with a goal to reduce accidents and prevent life safety injuries.
