Why Action is Necessary
Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Title VI requirements and Broward County Policy require public hearing before implementing major transit service changes. Broward County Transit (BCT) defines a major service change as any permanent fare adjustment, creation of a new route, complete route elimination, headway adjustments exceeding 15 minutes, or permanent modification affecting 25% or more of a standard route/revenue mile (or 50% or more for express routes). Approval is necessary to authorize implementation of HFB on the Sample Road and Hollywood Boulevard corridors following completion of the required public involvement process.

What Action Accomplishes
Schedules a Public Hearing to receive input on Broward County Transit’s (BCT’s) implementation of HFB service along the Sample Road and Hollywood Boulevard corridors, providing for an average headway of 15 minutes or less for a significant portion of the day (15 hours or more) during the week.
