Summary Explanation/Background
THE PUBLIC WORKS AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND THE REAL PROPERTY AND REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
Relocation of the Tax Collector’s Office (“TCO”) is required to provide space for its current operations. The current TCO space is not adequate, and its lease agreements will expire at the end of 2026, necessitating a new location and outfitting appropriate office space for public areas, operations, administration, staff, and document control.
On May 28, 2026, Cypress West, LLC (“Landlord”) and Broward County (“Tenant”) entered into a business lease agreement (“Agreement”), whereby Cypress West, LLC agreed to lease to Tenant approximately 48,229 square feet of office space located at 1515 West Cypress Creek Road in Fort Lauderdale (“Premises”).
