Summary Explanation/Background
THE PUBLIC WORKS AND ENVIRONMENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND HOUSING AND URBAN PLANNING DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION, subject to staff recommendations which will ensure compliance with the standards and requirements of Chapter 5, Article IX of the Broward County Code of Ordinances.
This plat is located on 7.08 acres on the south side of Hallandale Beach Boulevard, between Southwest 52 Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard/Southwest 56 Avenue, in the Town of Pembroke Park. This plat is currently restricted to 168 “free standing” high rise apartments (of which 33 are “moderate income” affordable units); 7,000 square feet of commercial, and 2,000 square feet of private recreation accessory to the residential units.
The applicant is requesting to amend the note on the face of the plat as follows: This plat is restricted to 350 multifamily units.
The Town of Pembroke Park has confirmed that this development is being processed under Florida Statutes 125.01055, also known as the Live Local Act (LLA) for affordable housing.
