Summary Explanation/Background
THE AVIATION DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
This action will extend the Software Support and Maintenance Agreement (“Agreement”) between Broward County and SSI to continue providing software support and maintenance services for safety and security training at FLL.
On April 20, 2015, the Director of Purchasing executed the Agreement between Broward County (“County”) and SSI to provide software support and maintenance services for safety and security training at FLL. The Agreement was awarded with an initial three-year term and two one-year extensions. Additional information on the original Agreement and subsequent amendments is included in Exhibit 2.
SSI works with the Broward County Aviation Department to formulate the training for all Security Identification Display Area (“SIDA”) badge holders. SIDA badges and associated training are a requirement for employees working at FLL. Per the terms of the Agreement, SSI is responsible for all installation and integration of software support, updates, and maintenance services acceptable in accordance with Transportation Security Administration regulations in order to meet FLL’s training needs and requirements.
The proposed Fifth Amendment extends the term of the Agreement on a month-to-month basis for up to one year and increases the not-to-exceed amount by $45,000, for a total Agreement amount of $810,000.
The proposed Fifth Amendment has been reviewed and approved as to form by the Office of the County Attorney.
