MOTION TO ADOPT Resolution directing the County Administrator to publish Notice of Public Hearing to be held on December 10, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., in Room 422 of Governmental Center East to consider adoption of a proposed Resolution Amending the Broward County Administrative Code, the title of which is as follows:
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE BROWARD COUNTY ADMINISTRATIVE CODE ("ADMINISTRATIVE CODE"); PROVIDING FOR CHANGES TO CHAPTERS 2, 12, AND 13 OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE TO REFLECT CHANGES TO THE NAME AND GRANT-RELATED DUTIES OF THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS/BOARDS SECTION; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, INCLUSION IN THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Summary Explanation/Background
Intergovernmental Affairs support approval of this item.
The purpose of these Administrative Code amendments is to update Chapters 2, 12, and 13 of the Administrative Code to reflect the County's current organizational structure. The key elements of the amendments codify the organizational and name changes and clarify functional responsibilities as approved by the County Administrator for the Intergovernmental Affairs/Boards Section, and the Office of Management and Budget.
Specifically, the Intergovernmental Affairs/Boards Section of County Administration will be renamed as The Office of Intergovernmental Affairs (OIA). OIA will now be led by a Director instead of a Manager. Lastly, Grants Administration will move from the Office of Management and Budget to OIA. Grant Administration responsibilities are also updated in the Resolution.
