MOTION TO APPROVE Agreement between Broward County and Rebuilding Together Broward County, Inc. (RTBC), to provide services related to the BMSD Block Rebuild Program, and other Minor Home Assessment and Repair Program, in a not-to-exceed total agreement amount of $25,000, during National Rebuild Month with services to be provided by RTBC within the Broward Municipal Services District (BMSD) and authorize the Mayor and Clerk to execute the same; and authorize the County Administrator to take all necessary administrative and budgetary actions to implement the Agreement. Summary Explanation/Background
THE RESILIENT ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE BUILDING CODE DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
This item supports the Board Goal of “ensuring residents have an affordable place to live by offering sustainable, compatible, innovative, accessible, affordable housing options for all income levels, including integrated, permanent supportive housing and zoning that helps residents build equity.”
Rebuilding Together Broward County, Inc. (RTBC) has partnered with Broward County to perform Minor Home Assessments and Repairs within the BMSD over the past five years. The proposed Agreement provides for RTBC to perform a “Block Rebuild” to be conducted during National Rebuild Month (April of 2025) that will involve minor repairs to a collection of homes all on the same block with the BMSD. The County wishes to repeat this program in 2025. Any remaining funding shall be applied to other homes within the BMSD later in the year.
