A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, RELATING TO THE ALLOCATION OF SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY (750) REDEVELOPMENT UNITS TO THE CITY OF WILTON MANORS PER BROWARD COUNTY LAND USE PLAN POLICY 2.35.1; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Summary Explanation/Background
Broward County created Redevelopment Units, defined as additional permitted dwelling units equal to 3% of the total number of dwelling units as established by the adoption of the BrowardNext - Broward County Land Use Plan on April 25, 2017.
The City of Wilton Manors has requested the allocation of 750 Redevelopment Units per Broward County Land Use Plan Policy 2.35.1, including at least 10% of the units deed restricted to low- or very-low income housing for a period of 30 years. The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the above referenced item at its October 24, 2024, meeting, and recommended approval of the City’s request. (Vote of the Planning Council; Unanimous; 12-0: Abramson, Brunson, DiGiorgio, Fisher, Hardin, Horland, Newbold, Railey, Rosenof, Werthman, Zeman and Gomez).
