Summary Explanation/Background

In 2007, the Board established a marketing program that permitted certain limited uses of County property for revenue-based opportunities and other creative marketing strategies for the economic benefit of the County, while also protecting the County’s image.

The County’s marketing Program has not been substantively updated in more than 15 years. If adopted, this Resolution would remove the specifics of the program from the Broward County Administrative Code and authorize the County Administrator to create, implement, and periodically update a revised Advertising and Marketing Program (“Program”) to ensure alignment with the Board’s then-current goals and directives. The Program and any subsequent material revisions would be submitted to the Board for consideration and approval prior to implementation.

The Office of the County Attorney has coordinated with the County Administrator to ensure that notice of this proposed Resolution was published ten days prior to this public hearing.
