THE RESILIENT ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
Approval of this item supports the Board’s value of “Collaborates”: Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives; and goal of “Resilient Community”: Ensuring accessible, seamlessly integrated investments in renewable energy, sustainable practices, manufacturing, resilient infrastructure, and environmental protection.
This item seeks Board approval of a Revocable License Agreement (“Agreement”) between Broward County (“County”) and the City of Miramar (“City”), granting County nonexclusive access and use of a portion of City-owned property located at 2801 Southwest 186th Avenue, Miramar, Florida, known as Sunset Lakes Community Center (“Property”), for use as an ambient air monitoring site, as a part of the County’s Air Quality Program.
The Air Quality Program is a federal and state approved local air quality program responsible for protecting and improving air quality in Broward County, in accordance with state and federal regulations. The Broward County Natural Resources Division implements federal and state approved local air pollution control programs responsible for protecting and improving air quality in Broward County.
The term of the Agreement is ten years, with two additional renewal options of five years each, if exercised.
The Agreement has been reviewed and approved as to legal sufficiency by the County Attorney’s Office.
