Summary Explanation/Background

Section 1-51.3 of the Code sets forth the types and amounts of claims that may be resolved by the County Administrator and the County Attorney without requiring Commission action. The proposed Ordinance, if enacted, would permit the County Administrator or her written delegee to approve payment plans for the recovery of amounts owed to the County, provided the payment plan, if fully performed, would result in full payment of the principal amount owed (i.e., excluding late fees and interest). The proposed Ordinance also provides additional detail regarding the types of Consent Orders that may be approved administratively by the County Administrator and the types of litigation services the County Attorney is authorized to retain in connection with the litigation of County claims.
