Summary Explanation/Background
THE AVIATION DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
This action will approve the Third Amendment between the County and FFM for the extension of the Agreement for one additional year.
On October 20, 2020 (Item No. 80), the Board approved the Agreement for management of the Rental Car Center Fueling Facility at Broward County’s Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
On September 21, 2021(Item No. 3), the Board approved the First Amendment to the Agreement (collectively, as amended, the “Agreement”), which established a mechanism for the County to authorize and reimburse FFM, in an amount not to exceed $100,000, for emergency services.
On November 14, 2023 (Item No. 5), the Board approved the Second Amendment, which extended the term of the original Agreement for one additional year through November 30, 2024.
The proposed Third Amendment to the Agreement, if approved by the Board, will extend the Agreement by one additional year from December 1, 2024, through November 30, 2025. The maximum not-to-exceed cost for the additional one-year term is $1,047,364, which is the same maximum not to exceed cost of the Agreement for the preceding year.
The proposed Third Amendment has been reviewed by and approved as to form by the Office of the County Attorney.
