Why Action is Necessary
In accordance with Broward County Procurement Code Section 21.47(a), Award and Execution Authority, the Board shall make all awards and authorize the execution of the associated contracts with a value of more than $500,000, inclusive of the value of any renewals or extensions provided for in the contract.
In accordance with Section 332.0075(3)(b), Florida Statutes, a governing body must approve, award, or ratify all contracts executed by or on behalf of a commercial service large hub airport in excess of $1,500,000 as a separate line item on the agenda and must provide a reasonable opportunity for public comment. Such contracts may not be approved, awarded, or ratified as part of a consent agenda.
What Action Accomplishes
Ratifies the contract for the provision of all the labor, materials, equipment, services, and incidentals necessary to perform the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport Checked Baggage Resolution Area Room Improvements project.

Summary Explanation/Background
THE PURCHASING DIVISION AND THE AVIATION DEPARTMENT RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
On December 12, 2023 (Item No. 54), the Board authorized the County Administrator to approve and/or execute agreements, contract amendments, work authorizations, advertisement of competitive solicitations, and other documents during the Broward County Board of County Commissioner’s 2023 Winter Recess (between December 13, 2023, and January 22, 2024).
On December 29, 2023, the County Administrator approved and executed the fixed agreement between Broward County and Magnum Construction Management, LLC d/b/a MCM for Terminal 1 CBRA Room Improvements at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (Exhibit 1).
There were no protests or appeals filed regarding this procurement.
The amounts referenced in this agenda item were rounded to the nearest whole dollar. Vendor payments will be based on the actual total bid amount.
