Summary Explanation/Background
THE PUBLIC WORKS AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND THE HOUSING AND URBAN PLANNING DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
The Housing and Urban Planning Division received a request to vacate and annul a 20-foot drainage easement and a portion of a 15-foot-wide utility easement lying within Parcel A of the A. Sapp Plat, as recorded in Plat Book 164, Page 18 of the Official Records of Broward County, Florida, generally located on the southwest corner of I-75 and Southwest 14 Street, in the Town of Davie. Vacating these easements will provide clear and unencumbered title to the property owner.
The Town of Davie adopted Resolution No. R 2024-239 on November 6, 2024, granting approval of the vacation of the 20-foot drainage easement and adopted Resolution No. R 2025-089 on May 7, 2025, granting approval of the vacation of a portion of a 15-foot-wide utility easement lying within Parcel A of the A. Sapp Plat.
Review of this application by the applicable reviewing agencies indicates that there is no objection to the vacation of the subject easements.
This vacation application has been reviewed and approved as to form by the Office of the County Attorney (Exhibit 1). This vacation application has been publicly noticed ten days prior to the hearing date and will be noticed ten days after the hearing date, in a newspaper of general circulation in Broward County, pursuant to Section 125.66, F.S. and Section 336.10, F.S., as applicable.
