MOTION TO ENACT Ordinance amending the Broward County Comprehensive Plan to adopt Broward County Land Use Plan amendment PCNRM 25-1 to amend the Environmentally Sensitive Lands Map of the Natural Resource Map Series, located in the City of Pompano Beach (Commission District 4), pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended, the title of which is as follows:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING AN AMENDMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENTALLY SENSITIVE LANDS MAP OF THE NATURAL RESOURCE MAP SERIES WITHIN THE CITY OF POMPANO BEACH; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Why Action is Necessary
Pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended, Broward County Comprehensive Plan amendments shall be adopted by Ordinance by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, serving as the local governing body.
What Action Accomplishes
The Ordinance adopts PCNRM 25-1 which is an amendment to the Environmentally Sensitive Lands Map of the Broward County Land Use Plan Natural Resource Map Series, pursuant to Section 163.3184, Florida Statutes, as amended.

Summary Explanation/Background
The Planning Council, as the Local Planning Agency (LPA) responsible for the Broward County Land Use Plan, considered the following proposed amendment, PCNRM 25-1, at its May 22, 2025, public hearing and recommended approval, including not requiring a second Planning Council public hearing (Vote of the Planning Council; Unanimous; 14-0: Abramson, Brunson, Castillo, Geller, Gomez, Greenberg, Hardin, Horland, Levy, Newbold, Rosenof, Ryan, Zeman and DiGiorgio):
AMENDMENT PCNRM 25-1
Amendment to the Natural Resource Map Series of the Broward County Land Use Plan
Amendment to remove approximately 85.8 acres of the existing Sites 42A, 42B, 42C and 42D / Map Labels 95, 91, 93 and 92 from the Environmentally Sensitive Lands Map; generally located on the southeast corner of Copans Road and the FEC Railway, in the City of Pompano Beach.
