Summary Explanation/Background
THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/FACILITIES MANAGEMENT DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
On July 16, 2021, Broward County (“County”) and Siemens Industry, Inc., (“Siemens”) entered into the Building Automation and Technical Support Agreement whereby Siemens provides maintenance, installation, repair, upgrade, and other services on various Building Automation Systems (“BAS”) at County facilities.
The purpose of this project is to provide an upgrade to the BAS at the Broward County Government Center East Building located at 115 South Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33301.
If approved, Work Authorization No. 11 (Exhibit 1) will improve network security and provide BAS with the latest control technology for the Government Center East Building, replacing the obsolete systems that are currently controlling the air conditioning and ventilation equipment on levels one to three. This project will be a seamless extension of the upgraded system already installed on levels four and five.
This work authorization has been reviewed and approved as to form by the Office of the County Attorney.
