MOTION TO ADOPT budget Resolution transferring funds from reserve within the General Fund in the amount of $50,000 for the purpose of providing Fiscal Year 2026 funding to the American Jewish Committee for the referenced  sponsorship agreement; and to authorize the County Administrator to take all necessary administrative and budgetary actions required to implement the foregoing. What Action Accomplishes

A. This action will allow for funding to the American Jewish Committee for catering, books, and materials for family-friendly programs and displays in conjunction with the Broward County Libraries for Jewish American Heritage Month events in May 2026.

 

B. This action appropriates one-time funds in Fiscal Year 2026 from reserve to fund the American Jewish Committee.

Summary Explanation/Background

This item supports the Goal of the Broward County Board of County Commissioner’s (“Board”) of Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.

 

Funds will be utilized for coordination between the American Jewish Committee and Broward County libraries for Jewish American Heritage Month events in May 2026, with funding covering catering, books, and materials for family-friendly programs and displays.

 

Sponsorship funds will be utilized solely during the period prior to September 30, 2026, and solely for the referenced purposes in accordance with the sponsorship agreement that will be negotiated and executed by the County Administrator, subject to review and approval for legal sufficiency by the County Attorney’s Office.
