Summary Explanation/Background
THE RESILIENT ENVIRONMENT DEPARTMENT AND THE URBAN PLANNING DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
The Urban Planning Division has received a request to vacate and annul a utility easement ranging from ten to 15 feet in width, and a 62-foot by 100-foot-wide traffic control easement, all lying within the Sawgrass Commercial plat, as recorded in Plat Book 154, Page 1, of the Official Records of Broward County, Florida, and generally located on the north side of Oakland Park Boulevard, east of the Sawgrass Expressway, in the City of Sunrise. Vacating those easements will provide clear and unencumbered title to the property owner.
The City of Sunrise adopted Resolution No. 25-5 on January 15, 2025, granting approval of this vacation. Review of this application by the applicable reviewing agencies indicates that there is no objection to the vacation of the subject easements.
This vacation application has been reviewed and approved as to form by the Office of the County Attorney (Exhibit 1). This vacation application has been publicly noticed ten days prior to the hearing date and will be noticed ten days after the hearing date, in a newspaper of general circulation in Broward County, pursuant to Section 125.66, F.S. and Section 336.10, F.S., as applicable.
