Summary Explanation/Background

THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ REAL PROPERTY AND REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT DIVISION AND THE PARKS AND RECREATION DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.

 

This item relates to activities in the Broward Municipal Services District (BMSD), formerly known as Unincorporated Broward County. The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is the governing body of the BMSD and provides municipal services to the area.

 

At the request of the Broward County Parks and Recreation Division, the Real Property and Real Estate Development Division is facilitating the granting of an underground easement (Exhibit 1) to Florida Power & Light Company (“FPL”) on a portion of County-owned property at Everglades Holiday Park, located at 21940 Griffin Road in unincorporated Broward County and identified by Folio Number 503928010030 (“Property”).  The easement is needed by FPL to underground existing electrical utility lines as part of a storm hardening initiative. The installation of pad-mounted transformers and underground electrical lines will improve service reliability and resiliency at the park.

 

The easement has been reviewed and approved as to form by the Office of the County Attorney.
