Summary Explanation/Background
THE PUBLIC WORKS AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND THE HOUSING AND URBAN PLANNING DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION, subject to staff recommendations and conditions which will ensure compliance with the standards and requirements of Chapter 5, Article IX of the Broward County Code of Ordinances.
This plat is located on 19.42 acres on the west and east side of State Road A1A/Ocean Drive, between Seacrest Parkway and Magnolia Terrace, in the City of Hollywood. The current Plat restriction is: Parcels A and B-2 are restricted to a 1,000-room hotel with an accessory 209,300 gross square foot (138,000 net square feet) banquet facility and 8,000 square feet of accessory retail within the hotel/banquet buildings. Parcel B-1 is restricted to 135 high rise apartments. Parcels C and D are restricted to 78,000 square feet of retail use, with the retail use limited to those portions of Parcels C and D.
The applicant is requesting to amend the note on the face of the plat to be: Parcels A and B-2 are restricted to a 1,000-room hotel with an accessory 209,300 gross square foot (138,000 net square feet) banquet facility and 8,000 square feet of accessory retail within the hotel/banquet buildings. Parcel B-1 is restricted to 135 high rise apartments. Parcel C is restricted to 344 high-rise apartments, 6 townhouses, a 4,000 square feet restaurant, and a 500-room hotel. Parcel D shall be limited to 25,000 square feet of retail use with the retail use limited to those portions of Parcels D.
This request accompanies a proposed non-vehicular access line amendment (NVAL).
