Summary Explanation/Background
District 9’s office projects an excess in budgeted office funds for Fiscal Year 2025 (“FY25”), which it would like to use to provide funding for the secular programs (open to all, regardless of religion) of the following two Section 501(c)(3) charitable organizations in the amounts indicated:
$1,500 for the Faith Center, a Section 501(c)(3) nonprofit church in Broward County that provides community support programs, including food assistance. The donated funds will be restricted to support its food pantry program.
$1,500 for The New Life Fellowship Center, a Section 501(c)(3) nonprofit church in Broward County that provides community support programs, including youth services and food assistance. The donated funds will be restricted to support its food pantry program and community outreach services targeted at young people in connection with purely secular activities. On September 16, 2025 (Item 74), the Board approved the donation of $1,000 in funds to this organization. If approved, the total County donation to this organization would be $2,500.
District 9’s goal is to provide $3,000 in FY25 projected leftover office funds to these charitable organizations to further their missions. If approved, this item would authorize the County Administrator to execute agreements prepared by the County Attorney’s Office to effectuate these donations.

Fiscal Impact
Fiscal Impact/Cost Summary
If approved, approximately $3,000 in remaining FY25 budgeted funds from County Commission District 9’s office would be used to fund the above-referenced agreements. If less than $3,000 remained at the end of FY25, the amounts referenced above will reduced to ensure that no funds other than such remaining funds are used to fund these proposed agreements.
