Summary Explanation/Background
THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ REAL PROPERTY AND REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT DIVISION AND THE CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT DIVISION RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE ABOVE MOTION.
The Broward County (“County”) Construction Management Division requested the assistance of the Real Property and Real Estate Development Division to facilitate the granting of two perpetual, nonexclusive underground utility easements (collectively, the “Easements”) to Florida Power & Light Company (“FP&L”). The Easements affect a portion of County-owned property located at 1850-1950 Eisenhower Boulevard in the City of Fort Lauderdale (identified by Folio No. 504214360010). The County is currently constructing a high-rise hotel adjacent to the Broward County Convention Center. The Easements will allow FP&L to install and conduct overhead to underground conversions to provide FP&L power to the project. Specifically, the 15-foot easement will accommodate a pad for duct banks (Exhibit 2), and the 10-foot easement will allow for installation of a trench to support the utility work (Exhibit 1).
All documents have been reviewed and approved as to form by the Office of the County Attorney.
